Your standing at the bus stop on a chilly autumn evening when you suddenly notice the hottest guy you have ever seen...like ever! and he's just standing there. He's not really paying you any attention, his head is down, he looks so concentrated texting away on his Iphone.Maybe he's settling some important business on his phone? Hmmmmm a business man, that sounds really, really nice. He notices you staring at him and looks at you and flashes you his gorgeous pearly whites. What do you say?
The initial "getting to know one another" awkward phase is dreadful. Some people know how to start-up a conversation and are just great at talking to people they are interested in with ease. Some of us wrack our brain and over think every detail of what's going to come out of our mouths and end up talking about our Uncle Joe, out all things...really? your Uncle Joe.IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE PEOPLE!! Here are 3 easy tips on how to take control and not over think that first conversation with your potential boy-toy :)
#1 BE ATTENTIVE.
Try not to get lost in their eyes!! Pay attention and listen to what the other person is saying so that you can properly respond.Nothings more embarrassing than seeming like your paying attention and then when it's your turn to speak saying "HUHHHHH??" with a crummy look on your face, trust me.
#2 DON'T GET TOO PERSONAL.
You should never come across as a detective digging for information on a ten year old case, especially during the first conversation. Ask questions, but keep it on superficial, surface level stuff. You are sure to scare him away if you dig for too much to soon.
#3 SEEM ENGAGING.
No one wants to talk to someone who's stiff and unwelcoming. Act interested and make the other person feel important. Ask questions about their personal life but once again, don't make it seem like you're trying to dig for information. Make the person feel like they are having a great time in your company and vice-versa.
Remember always keep it light and simple, that always works. :)
