I'm completely obsessed with everything and anything that has to do with skin care, so I try my best to educate myself on the dos and don'ts and everything in between. Lately, I've been looking into something called "The Face Mapping Theory". Chinese dermatologists believe that your face is the window to your overall health and what's going on within your body. Here's a diagram to further explain this theory :)
If your struggling with acne on your forehead which is most common, then your blemishes could be directly linked to your small intestines and bladder. If your problem areas are you cheeks, then your blemishes can be directly linked to your stomach and maybe some digestive issues. The face mapping theory is great because it gives you specific information on what your problems are inside and out of your body therefore making it easier for you to come up with a solid solution.NO MORE HAVING TO EXPERIMENT WITH CREAMS, LOTIONS AND POTIONS!!
We also have to remember that acne is also greatly influenced by the bacteria and dirt on the surface of your skin. You should be using products that have a high amount of benzoyl peroxide and salycic acid to properly cleanse the skin of make-up, dirt and oils. Following the face mapping theory and using the right products topically for your skin should give you the best results. Not only are you cleansing your body of all these harmful, deadly toxins, but your cleansing your skin of all the harmful bacteria that sits on the surface and causes your skin to be inflamed and irritated, thus causing acne.I STRESS FOR YOU TO FIND PRODUCTS THAT ARE SPECIFICALLY FOR YOUR SKIN'S PROBLEMS.
My problem areas are my nose and my forehead, so if this theory is true, I will have to implement a more stable exercise routine and diet to improve my skin. I try to eat healthy and exercise but my problem is consistency so knowing this now, I will do my best trying to be consistent to see if this theory is true and if I see any improvement with my overall skin health.
I don't really know what to think about this theory but either way, being healthy, active and making healthy decisions with foods are beneficial to your overall health in the long run which is extremely important to me! If great skin comes along with it then that will be amazing, if not then I'll be OK with that too!!
WHAT ARE YOUR PROBLEM AREAS? DO YOU AGREE WITH THE FACE MAPPING THEORY?
